Hi. My name is Neil and I’m a Tax Expert at TurboTax. I’m happy to help you with your AGI rejection. No worries, you’re not in trouble and you’re not alone. In fact, it’s an easy fix. What happened is that the 2020 Adjusted Gross Income, or AGI, that you entered when you filed your taxes this year didn’t match what the IRS has on file for you. So please check your 2020 Form 1040 —line 11— to make sure you’re entering the correct AGI. Then, sign back into TurboTax, follow the instructions on the screen and enter your AGI exactly as it appears on your 2020 return. If your on-screen AGI matches what’s on your 2020 Form 1040 and you’re still getting rejected, we have a guide with several common issues below.
