UPDATE: Intuit has announced that TurboTax has resumed e-filing of state income tax returns.
In a release off the company’s website, Intuit says they stopped the state level filing after seeing an increase of suspicious filings. They resumed e-filing capability as of 6:00 pm EST.
ALBANY – TurboTax has stopped e-filing all state tax returns nationwide amid an investigation into an increase in fraudulent returns. It appears too many scammers are trying to file fake returns with other people’s personal information. The State of Vermont won’t be issuing any refunds at all until there is a clearer picture of what’s behind the major increase.
